Halloween has always been one of our favorite times of the year! So, when two of our friends told us they would like us to style & photograph their halloween themed elopement, we jumped at the opportunity. Mitchell (also known as @mitchthebat, the newfoundland Batman) is a lover of Halloween, horror movies, cosplay and all things different, professing his love to Natasha, also obsessed with everything Halloween, witchcraft and of coasre anything Sailor moon. They didn't care to do anything traditional. They got ready together at our Bridal Suite - The Willow Room and had two of their best friends to join them, along with Mitchell's Son Nixon. Natasha wanted a simple dress, so we used a bridal skirt from Ever After Bridal and added a Black Leather top and a leather Jacket to create her wedding look.
The evening before the couple arrived to get ready, we set the whole suite with black candles, Halloween, witchy decor and made playlists to suit the spooky theme. Pam of Picco Creations worked her magic on their Cake, it was beyond Spooktacular! Pam went above and beyond on this event, not only creating one of the most stunningly creepy cakes I have even seen but also the perfect cake toppers, sweet cookies, cupcakes & Macarons!
The large bouquet of dark and moody floral consisted of black and maroon and were perfect for the occasion, thanks to All Events Floral.
Seriously!!! The team was perfect!!!
The morning of the big day, the couple arrived! The Color Palette were anxiously waiting to spoil the bride! Johnny showed up with all the fun video equipment and started shooting all the details and memories from the day, while Dave (the other fab White Willow Photographer) set the stage for their ceremony. Using a triangle alter he had built previously. He searched for the perfect spot that might look like a pumpkin patch. Then found a private property and he asked the owners if we could steal their front lawn for a 1/2hr and they said yes!! He then added several pumpkins to create our fake pumpkin patch and we were ready for the special moment.
Side Note: This funny comment from a passerby the day after...
"We drove past this after we went to Pumpkinfest yesterday. We actually circled around, came back, and parked there watching for a minute. It was AMAZING and you captured it perfectly. Soon as I saw you there I said to my man "yup, these pics will be stunning" lol "
This made my heart sore btw... you know who you are ..lol
The ceremony was MAGIC!! As the couple stood there holding hands, the smoke bombs billowed purple smoke through carved pumpkins, creating the perfect mood for their vows. Promises were made, hands were held, kisses were shared, and the "Dia De Los Muertos" masks came out to play! These cool masks the couple had ordered just for the occasion. They were perfect for the mood of there wedding images, probably some of my fav images from the day.
After the ceremony we headed to Lester's Farm Chalet for more photos and the cutting of the cake. They sat down spinning their vintage black & white peaked umbrellas in front of the barn and enjoyed a moment together before heading off for more photos. We then made our way into the field with one of the Lester's family horses, which had been Painted like a skeleton. AMAZING!! Jim Lester , one of the owners, was so wonderful and helped us handle the house while photographing the couple. We were so thankful to have him there.
The evening ended in a burnt forest. The couple set off more smoke bombs, while taking the last of their photos, it was absolutely epic!
"The burnt forest would grow again, new life has already started and in life there is love." - Nicole Lavroff
